Dropping ACA plan - Advice/Timing

I will become eligible for Health Insurance from a part time job on 2/1 - I am currently on an ACA plan - it is better and cheaper - even as COBRA.

I'm paid up on my ACA plan through the end of the month.

February bill is due on 1/24.

The ACA website asks you to pick a date at least 14 days in the future to cancel.

So the nervous side of me doesn't want to drop coverage until the last second - they could let me go at any time.

So do I not pay the bill on 1/24 - then on 2/1 with coverage from my new plan go in and cancel the plan on the ACA website?

Any advice?

Similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I just lived with the overlap between my ACA plan and my new employer's plan.
