Nor should you be. You are doing very well! Losing weight is never easy.

Good results all round for the participants in this one. I think I might give it a go in the new year as sometimes I wonder whether I take in enough protein. Actually I am certain I don't.

Down 24.7 pounds after just over 16 weeks. About 3 pounds left to go. I lost 1.7 pounds in the last week.

My 17-year old grandson (son of my step-daughter and SIL) stayed with us last week while his parents went on a cruise out of Tampa. I was more active than normal which is probably why the weight loss increased.

We went kayaking one day and to a trampoline place another day. We also did a Segway tour but that was only moderate exertion. Thank goodness for Groupon and Half Off Depot. The trampoline place (Airheads) was a blast and kicked our butts! I think I'll be trying it again. Tremendous workout but not sore the next day. I thought I wouldn't be able to stand up the day after.

Made my goal of 180 today. Lost 21 lbs in 8 weeks. This Sunday wife and I will do our first "celebration meal", at the Casino buffet no less.

Then I guess our second will be around New Years.

So true, DW lost 7 lbs in the same amount of time. Of course she was already really close to her optimum weight.

I could go another 10 lbs, but I'm going to phase 3 and, once that's over, I'll start hitting the weights and try to "convert" that last 10 lbs to muscle.

Pierre Dukan, the nutritionist behind the popular but controversial Dukan diet, has suggested that France tackle child obesity by giving extra exam marks for slimness.
Dukan, who has sold 8 million copies of his diet book worldwide, made the proposal in a 250-page book called 'An Open Letter to the Future President', which he sent out on Tuesday to 16 candidates for France's presidential election.
The plan calls for high school students to be allowed to take a so-called "ideal weight" option in their final year exams, the "baccalaureat," under which they would earn extra points if they kept a body mass index (BMI) of between 18 and 25.
Those already overweight at the start of the two-year course would score double points if they managed to slim down over a period of two years.
Give slim kids higher marks, says French diet guru - Yahoo! News

I had bought the book last summer, think I will finally dust it off and have a read. Was doing so well with my own version of Atkins... Just keeping myself pretty much in ketosis, lost 30 lbs and exercising with a trainer. I think being diagnosed hypothyroid has helped and that 50 mcg of thyroxine is just enough. Prior to that the lbs just wouldn't shift no matter what!

Since Christmas, got into some bad habits and just can't seem to shake them. I need a kick in the butt! Thinking a change in diet might spark some interest again. Don't have much more to lose so I really need to just do it! Lol

We decided that we had to do something to get our weight under control. I have tried everything and nothing seemed to work.

We have just completed day 3 of the Attack Phase, I am down 4lbs and DH is down 5lbs. When I did weight watchers I was luck if I lost a 1lb every two weeks. I've just been doing food as suggested here on earlier posts, but I found this link last night with a diet plan for Dukan which actually makes the whole thing sound more appetizing.

Day 7 and DH has lost 7 lbs. I have only lost 3lbs but have to say we are both feeling good. I think a lot of it has to do with the carbs being absent.

Stuck at 25 lbs lost. Still want to lose 3-5 more.

If you stick with the diet for awhile, you will definitely be able to feel the effects of eating carbs. Bloat, sluggishness, spikey hunger. People are different but I've learned my system functions much more efficiently with minimal carbs.

Glad to see so many folks benefiting from the Dukan diet. Whatever method it takes, reaching one's desired weight and body shape is a great feeling.

Due to traveling to visit some relatives and old friends, I fell off the Dukan wagon. After about 2 months of eating (cooked by auntie) small-to-normal sized portions of "supposedly" nutrionally balanced meals, I had gained 12 pounds. My observation was that I ate about the same amount of food, but mostly carbs instead of mostly protein.

After a month of regaining control of my Dukan diet, I have lost 8 of the 12 lbs. AND, I feel much better.
