Exercise can get you hurt! Duck!

Running today finishing an 8 mile run wind was blowing upwards of 45mph, and as I turn the corner of a street a shovel comes flying off a work truck and goes whistling by my head by about a foot!

Got to always expect the unexpected even when exercising!

Glad it missed you NewGuy. Could have been lethal.

Last year I was walking along downtown on a blustery day and next thing I knew a huge sign fell to the sidewalk about 4 feet away.

Had it hit my head I would be dead.

A good read about that is Fate is the Hunter by Ernest K. Gann. A novel about the early days of airline aviation, describing numerous events where little things like that decided who lived and who died. We've all had our close calls, sometimes I wonder why I'm still alive.

I used to work with a guy who was close to retirement age and I asked him "Do you exercise Earl?" Earl said "I get my exercise being a pallbearer for guys who exercise."
