I am finished with menopause but still occasionally get mild hot flashes. Fans are great, ceiling or otherwise, as are natural fabric clothing and sleepwear. I find that my flashes are worse if I don't get fresh air and exercise or drink enough water. Sugary things are also a trigger for me as are caffeine and alcohol(not that I am so that I avoid these things, especially the latter two, entirely).
