Might want to get some Milk of Magnesia to help with that.

Five weeks out now and I'm still tossing and turning at night trying to find a comfortable position. Probably going to have to ask the Dr for a refill on the pain pills for the same reason. Why I can recline on the sofa and feel fine but it hurts like a bear when I lay flat, I can't even begin to guess.

Absolutely normal. RG. Sleeplessness is one of the worst side effects for me. I'm 6 months out and I swear I slept in the recliner for 12 straight weeks. I think the pressure from the bed makes it worst. I use to be a stomach sleeper but haven't been able to stay that way through the night.

I'm 7-1/2 months out now and only think about the knee when it makes the clackity-clack noises sometimes. The pain is completely gone, I've slowly gotten past the 100 degree bend plateau of the first 4 months, and most of the swelling is gone. I now play tennis regularly without favoring the left leg, and I went backpacking last weekend with no issues. I try to kneel as little as possible, and use a 1-1/2" thick closed cell foam pad when I do.

For the first 6 weeks or so, I slept in bed with my leg elevated on several pillows. I think that gives the same support as the recliner, but allowed me to sleep with DW.

Yeah, I'm at day #10 here. I'm pretty comfortable during the day when not too active. Walking can be more or less comfortable depending on how close to the last pain pill it is. Nights, however, are a drag. I sleep 2-3 hours, wake, shift my 15 pillows around, sleep 2 more hours, wake, shift pillows, .... Fortunately my surgeon believes that the people who do best are the ones who take the pain medicine and keep the knee in motion. Also, I'm not trying to get off the pain meds to go back to a j*b.

One other word of advice. Miralax.
