Last weigh in for the year. Happy New Years everyone and keep on losing (or maintaining).
Wow, you managed to lose weight over Christmas - that is tremendous, well done. I won't be back home to get on the scales until next week. I did manage to avoid drinking a single pint of beer while in England (stuck to "shorts"). However, I wasn't good in any other departments and it was way too snowy and icy to do any exercise (other than an hour or 2 hacking at ice with an ax and shovel to get sidewalks clear for the arrival of funeral cars and elderly relatives coming to pay respects to my Dad).

Took my vital signs this morning (weight, BP, Blood sugar). I'll either be in better shape in 6 months, or I'll be dead. Not posting numbers, but I'm starting all over again. If I make progress and don't die, I'll let you know.

Happy New Year, all.

Harley, New Year's Day is a great time to start building one's health. Numbers aren't necessary at all. Here's to some great progress for all of us in 2010.

I had my weigh-in today. Up .4 lbs from last week, but last week I lost 5.4 lbs, so I'm not going to worry about it too much!

Total weight lost to date: 6.4 lbs. Downward we go!

Kinda sick last week on and off, limiting my exercise. Doing much better on the diet and exercise so far this week, so hopefully I will kick it back down by next week. Can't let the upward trend continue - worked too hard to lose this weight to begin with.

Highest was 139lb (2007)

'Bout the same. Not getting any exercise, but that's my fault. I can't blame the weather for everything. I do have a floor and a treadmill that I COULD use for simple exercise, but....

I'm not sure I'm working towards a goal any more. I've realized over the last week that I'm feeling pretty comfortable around 200 pounds. If that feeling changes, I'll get back on the "lose weight" bandwagon. But for now, I'll just kind of wait and see how my body reacts to my current exercise level and diet.

We've had lots of unhealthy stuff around the house in the last couple of weeks. But now that the Oreo Truffles are gone, I shouldn't be ingesting quite as many calories...

Thanks. The day started off pretty good. A bowl of Total cereal with banana. But a golf buddy called and I met him for some Mexican food at lunch. No meds though. But will eat light tonight.

That reminds me of a friend who once said to me

I'm afraid my trip to the UK over Christmas has set me back almost 4lb. Not to worry, time to knuckle down and get back to within my target range.

Hey, so far so good today. Started the day with another bowl of Total Cereal and banana. For lunch, a 280 cal chicken quesadilla with a small salad. A Lean Cuisine brand. Never been too big on these things but after nuking in the microwave, I grilled for a few minutes on the Foreman Grill and that made a huge difference. A little crispy which I like.

If I can just replace my sugar cravings with fruit, I'll have good success.

Just talking about this with our son at New Year. What I did that worked great for me was to buy the bags of frozen fruit and each day for my evening snack I would blend a shake, out of fat free low cal frozen yogurt, skim milk and frozen fruit.

Yeah I will probably do that. In the summer I did something similar by using powdered slimfast vanilla shake, adding fruits, ice and blending in the mixer. That would sometimes be dinner. Hard to make myself do that in the winter though.
