Nancy announced that she was going to start a diet to lose some pounds she had put on recently. "Great," Rita exclaimed. "I'm ready to start a diet too. We can be dieting buddies and help each other out. And when I feel the urge to drive out and get a burger and fries, I'll call you first. "Wonderful," Nancy replied. "I'll go with you."

I think I know Nancy and Rita.... :)

Official recommitment to WW this morning--up 3.5 lbs. since December 1, 2010, so now I'm setting my goal to lose 28.5 and just get 'er done.

You guys have all been doing great!

Seriously, that sounds really aggressive considering how well you've done so far. I'm really impressed. Here's wishing you all the best

2/9 - 191, back heading in the right direction. goal for mid summer is around 175

yikes, got side tracked and I think I missed last week. Still at 187, I knew the 185-187 range would be a sticking point....:( but the weather is turning so I have ample opportunities to increase my exercise.

Well I lost 1 1/2 pounds so I am back on the weight loss wagon. My goal is five more and then maintain forever .

Now at 14 weeks in range. Last weigh-in this morning before leaving for England. Where we are staying is very hilly and we won't have a car so I'm hoping that by feeding ourselves in our rented house (instead of staying with relatives), and lots of walking will keep the weight in check. :)

Restarted WW last Thursday and came down with the flu over the weekend (hmmm, is there a connection?); thanks to WW, I didn't eat ice cream 24/7 to recuperate and had a good weigh-in today.

Goal: to lose 28.5 lbs.
3/9/11, week 1: down 4.8; 23.7 to go.
 
3/9/11- 115lbs

I was down to 111 and felt good. I would like to get back down to 110. I went for my 2nd walk this year. The uphill part of the walk made me see how out of shape that I am. My 2 year old granddaughter is no longer living with us and the weather is getting somewhat nicer, so I am getting back into the exercise mode.
 
Time for me to join in this thread. I've lost the same 50 pounds too many times to count...and I've gained 20 lbs since last fall so time to get serious yet again.

Welcome ! I find the weigh ins keep me on the straight and narrow most weeks .
 
Thanks Moe. I had lapband surgery 5 years ago so you'd think I'd have this weight thing licked, but it is definitely not a panacea!

That's a relief. I've been "triple-dipping" in dance class a few times to burn some more calories...that's 3 classes in a row - 2.5 hrs of dancing - pretty intense and fun to push myself! (Yeah, I know, watch for injuries...I've only done it a few times.)

Diet Tip: A great way to lose weight is to eat while you are naked and standing in front of a mirror. Restaurants will almost always throw you out before you can eat too much!


Wife & I went snow skiing at Copper Mountain, CO., last week for a couple of days. We had sunny weather, short lift lines, interesting end-of-day hot tub aquaintences and good restaurants. And, continued with the weight loss!

182 Mar 16 I skipped the Wed buffet again! I am cutting back on portions consumed at home and the frequency of eating fattening food when out. :D

I always use last Saturday's weigh in but I wish I could have used yesterdays (182.8). We spent all day Wednesday driving 200 miles each way to take out my mom for her 87th birthday. Nice day but 3 meals eaten out so I'm sure that will send the weight up for a few days. Not sure if it will be down again by Saturday.

Boy, I checked out of the forums for a while there, didn't I? But I'm glad to say I'm back and finally under 200 lbs.

Really starting to feel the challenge of losing, now. It's hard to take off and easy to put back on. I've been in the 202 - 198 range for two months now. But I keep at it and remind myself (daily) of how far I've come. That helps.

Congrats to everyone out there who's still slogging away at it!

3-23-11: 186, the more I exercise the more I eat. note to self - cannot lose weight if I consume more calories than I burn off.

Man, it's tough reporting that one...uggh. I have been happy maintaining around 123, but 125 scares me. Too much eating out. Hard part is, I'm making new friends lately, and they are inviting me out to eat. This is tough!
