I'm back from vacation and weighed in again today... down 2.5 lbs! That makes a total of....

43 lbs lost so far!

I was just pleased to have kept losing over vacation, especially since two days of my vacation were described as "Eating my way through Portland, OR."

I did a pretty good job of it, too.

Congrats to all this week's losers! (And, frankly, to all of us for just showing up and slogging through it).

I'm amazed at those of you who lose weight on vacation - now that's determination! I'm going away the next 2 weekends and will be suffering all types of cook outs and dining out...scary...!

Diet danger alert! Watch out for those lbs. that Calgary Girl and Urchina have lost (and now Alan's one lb.)--they are floating around just looking for someone to sneak back onto!

I saw that people who drink 2 cups of water before every meal lose more weight than people who didn't (and of course have higher water bills for two reasons )

To lose weight drink water before meals - UPI.com

And Moe, uh oh, my other completely off-the-wall diet danger is--people expand to fit their cars! So be extra vigilant because your new car, which I believe is bigger than your trade-in, is conspiring against you

Nice tip. Should work for me because if I drink 16oz of water before a meal I'll need to skip to the loo long before I'm finished eating

I've found that eating an apple about 1/2 hour before meals helps me a lot, too.
And unlike water, doesn't rush right through.
Also unlike water, has calories. Still, they're apple calories.
Adding caramel and nuts doesn't work quite the same way, though.

Sounds like a winner to me. I'm converting to monthly. Missed the last 2 anyway.
