Well done with the weight.

The cat is old and sick (kidney failure), so nervous eating is usually a problem for me, however he ate like a horse and was very perky all week.

We'll be repeating the exercise for 10 days over New Year if he is still around.

SIL told me that if he dies while he is away that he doesn't want me to bury him in their garden. Anyone know how easy it is to flush a dead cat down the toilet? (That's what we used to do with the goldfish).

Ugh, Alan. Whyever not in the garden? I have a place for my pets with a few flowering plants and a statue of St. Francis of Asissi.
You could take the cat to the vet and they will have it cremated and returned for a fee, usually.
And, not to be a total downer, but in my experience with cats with kidney failure is that they should be humanely euthanized when no longer able to do "cat things", which is long before the disease kills them.

I thought that would be bad news for most men. I expect most women would enjoy shopping for new clothes for their slimmer figure.

When I lost all my weight, DW made me go shopping because my pants all looked like "sacks tied around my waist".

He is was in fine fettle all week long - eating well and trotting around with his tail up, using his litter box properly etc. The last cat we had suddenly got really ill and at the vet's they said she had kidney failure, and at 15 years old advised euthanasia.

Had our next weigh in at the gym. The coaches are doing a two month "healthy holidays" challenge where everyone has to pick either paleo or zone way of eating to keep themselves on track BEFORE New Years, haha. They're letting people have the holiday weeks off, but all the other weeks we're supposed to get right back to it. Well, I've been steady on paleo since August, so I'm pretty used to eating like this now, and don't really have any desire to add back anything other than the occasional dessert once a week.

I'm at 121.8, down 2.6 more pounds since Nov. 1, total 13.8 down in 15 weeks.

Cool results at the gym, being lighter makes some things easier to accomplish, got my first muscle up on the tall hanging rings just this morning! Also competed in my first beginner weightlifting meet at the age of 42. Made 4 out of 6 lifts, didn't get the max lifts that were my goal, but I was happy with what I did for a first time (the girl who beat me in my weightclass was 16 years old, and she did about 20 lbs. more on each lift, not even close, haha)

I think I might have 5 more pounds to lose and that would put me in a lower weight class for competing, we'll see how it goes.

Hope everyone here manages to have "Healthy Holidays", too.

Way to go, Moe. Remember, having to buy new clothes is bad news only when caused by gaining weight.

Only 2 lbs. on a cruise, SG? I'm impressed--you must have held back on the pina coladas at least a little.

Sarah, you'll be wearing that sequined bikini any day now and your DH will forget all about poker (fill in appropriate smuttiness using the word "poke" here ).

Alan, please share the cat food diet.

I've been maintaining nicely--maybe down another lb. or so--while I await the new Weight Watchers' program, which starts the week of 11/28. Apparently the company has come around to the idea that carbohydrates may be a factor in weight loss! and is recalculating all its points based on that breaking news. Shocking, I know. I'll start again in earnest that week too.

If you lose another 5 lbs., the bigger lifters will be using you for practice!

Very nice, ig.

It's pretty easy really. You know that dieticians recommend that we should eat small amounts very regularly? Well, you simply fill your pockets with cat kibble. It has all the nutrients you need, and whenever you're feeling hungry you just eat a handful right out of your pocket. Of course, you quickly realize that the reason cats lick their genitals is to take away the taste of the cat food.

Wish I would have lost a pound, but wishing won't make it happen, LOL. Working out much more, and in fact today just got back from a 1.5 hour "Turkey Blow-out" dance class...maybe I burned off 3 or 4 bites of the mashed potatoes and stuffing from Thanksgiving. I did do 45 minutes on the elliptical yesterday morning before the feast, so I'm proud of making myself workout on Thanksgiving day. I'd rather have been snacking in the kitchen and lazing on the couch all day, not just half the day.

I am back from my Thanksgiving trip and I did not gain any weight . We were touring and walking a lot so that probably saved me . This week I am definitely buying new pants . They have just gotten too loose to be comfortable .. In the LBYM spirit I gathered up expensive tops & dresses that I only wore once and sold them on ebay . They went like hotcakes and now I feel better about buying new .

Target 175lbs

1/06 186.5
2/03 183.5
3/03 182.0
4/07 181.0
5/05 180.0
6/02 180.0
7/07 179.0
8/04 179.5
9/01 178.0
9/29 178.0
11/1 179.0
12/1 179.0

If I can get through the holidays without gaining, I'll be happy. Then maybe early next year I can lose the remaining 5 lbs of my target.

OK, big effort now that DW has decided she needs to lose 3lbs as well.
On Monday I started journaling, WW style, and instant results with the lower intake (~1,500 cals per day). I hope I can get below target before Christmas.

Hang in there Dawg !!
