Yes indeed! You deserve a few extra pounds.

Alan, my DH is aiming for your target range as well, with a high that is close to your highest weight, too. He's at 181 right now.

I'm at 167 lbs, after too long in the 180s. Finally getting a handle on our eating habits again. I chronicled my first weight loss experience about 100 pages ago on this thread, but got slack and lazy over the past year or so. So easy to do.

But with the Peru trip looming, we decided to make a commitment to get back down to a healthy weight. Dukan Diet plus walking and aerial yoga for now. More exercise later.

So here I go again:
8/10 167.4

Target 155

Good luck Sarah. If hubby is on board and has his own target weight as well, then two of you trying to lose weight is going to be a big help.

Back in May I started Weight Watchers yet again. Something clicked this time though, so I thought I'd post where I am 12 weeks later.

May 22 - 172
May 29 - 167
June 12 - 162
June 19 - 163
June 26 - 161
July 3 - 160
July 10 - 163 (A week spent at Disneyland with the grandkids...yes, the willpower was weak!)
July 17 - 159
July 24 - 157
July 31 - 156
Aug 7 - 155
Aug 14 - 152

The loss is slow and steady and the PointsPlus method is something I think we can live with indefinitely. DH started about two weeks after me and has lost about 35 lbs. We're eating mostly whole foods and haven't had fast food since May. We've been so long without it that a burger and fries doesn't even sound good. And the best part is I can have my dark chocolate and frozen yogurt cause it fits well within my allowable points per day.

Final goal is in the 135 range which would put my BMI at 21.8.

Edit: The one significant lifestyle change is that we've virtually eliminated alchohol. 5 points for a single shot of rum isn't worth the points when you only have 29 for the whole day!

I enjoy following along with everybody's progress, it's a great motivator.

6/1: 295
6/15: 284.6
6/22: 282.0
6/29: 280.4
7/8: 279.0
7/15: 275.8
7/22: 276.0
7/29: 272.8
8/5: 272.6
8/12: 271.4
8/19: 268.6

This week, I officially retired my longest (fattest?) belt.

2011 Goal: 249 lbs
2012 goal: 215 lbs (this was my weight when I graduated high school, and I want to see if I can get back to it)

ProBum, that is so cool that you retired your longest belt!
DH says that I couldn't wear the pants I wore yesterday anymore, because it looked like I could keep a small family of llamas in there with my butt! I think that was maybe a compliment, but I'm not sure.

A small family of llamas? No way! Shame on him. A family of small llamas, maybe. Makes much more sense.

There's a small family of llamas living a mile from our house at Guisborough Hall. Every time I see them now, I'll think of you Sarah

I'm familiar with "ants in your pants" but "llamas in your butt" is a new one. Must be one of those Southern sayings...

I suppose "llama butt" is the complimentary opposite to "lard @ss"?
