Our 18th wedding anniversary is coming up this weekend. Although we will be buying boat engine parts to celebrate, it will be nice that we've both managed to drop 29 pounds since the beginning of the summer, so perhaps a good meal out is also in the cards!
Great job! But the mood of your post suggests that buying boat engine parts is a bad thing.

Lots of great progress this week, and so many of you are creeping up on your goal weight. Great job!

Fell .2 lbs short of my short-term goal. Not too bad considering we celebrated DW's b-day last night, and I threw my new dietary playbook out the window. In addition to evil pasta (Chicken Penne Marsala), I may have enjoyed a few of Dawg's meds in the process.

I'll be better next week. Probably.

Hi, I will join this,

55 yr old, 5' 5", vegetarian, diabetic & also on some other medications which come in the way of losing weight as its side effect, partially disabled due to a road accident 6yrs back, presently 160 lbs & goal is 155 for now & then go for 150lbs.

- 8/17/09 --- 171 lbs
- 9/19/11 --- 160lbs

Two weeks back, increased work out days from 2 to 5 days/wk, joined my fitness pal & am recording the daily exercise & diet, which I think is helping me be aware of what I am eating & am eating better & am able to better controll the eating urges.

With regards

I'd say you made it. Congrats!

Now you can start putting on the 4.4 lbs required to make your winter goal. Good luck with that!

The good thing about this thread is that it has kept me accountable . As long as I weigh in every week I will not gain weight . It's when I ignore my weight that it tends to creep up . I have hit a plateau but that's okay as I am happy here just need to reshape my body a little . I was this weight in college but somehow the same weight as a senior citizen translates differently .

The relatively easy weight loss I was enjoying has tapered off to nil, and I'm bouncing around from 265 - 267 on my daily weigh-ins. If I'm being honest with myself, my carb consumption has been creeping back up, so I really shouldn't be surprised.

"Wait, you mean weight loss is hard work, and involves sacrifice?!? Phooey!"

Seems unfair doesn't it?
I'm still at the same weight as last weigh-in, seems our weekend-long celebration of our anniversary may have slowed us down a bit. Ah well, next week!

One of these days I'm going to get back on my program. Got to make up my mind to cut down on my med's first. Otherwise, I'm just wasting my time. I did weigh this morning and I'm not too far off my goal of 175. Still stuck in the 182 area.

I'm baaaaaaaaack! Well a 4# gain is what you get after major surgery, sitting around and still not allowed to exercise, and eating every last bit of all the yummy, bad food my friends are bringing to us on a daily basis. Good grief! The food deliveries will continue until Friday, but after that I will try to stop eating chocolate cake, carrot cake, mac & cheese, etc., etc. with wild abandon.

It's good to be back.

Good to have you back. I agree, you need to quit eating all that yummy stuff with wild abandon. I'd throttle it back to semi-civilized abandon. Anyway, you deserve to be treated well. A few pounds in the grand scheme of things is nothing.
