None of them would apply in this situation. I suspect user eyesight error.

+1

I tend to do the same as you and have never seen my weight increase overnight. I drink a lot of fluids in the evening and usually see a 2 -3 lb weight loss in the morning.

Back in the saddle, ready to lose 25 lbs. to get to WW goal. A shiny new scale is on its way here from Amazon as I have switched to WW online to continue my progress. I also started using a new WW gadget called Active Link which is a fancy pedometer (it's a reconfiguration of this thingie: Philips DirectLife: fitness, health and successful weight management). The WW version also records 24/7 (so it will pick up on any sleep eating activity ) and then interacts with the other online WW tracking stuff. I'm loving it.

I have become so much more active in daily movements the last three weeks, definitely the missing link in my strategy. My dog is exhausted from forced long walks--I should try the gadget on her collar.

I remembered to weigh in this morning and I am a pound below my goal weight! The weekly weigh ins and have really helped me not let my weight creep back up .

So I woke up a 162.6 this morning. But after spending 3 hours in the heat and humidity building a bike rack in my garage I was down to 160.2. Which one counts?

Friday weigh-in--down 2.3 lbs. since the Friday before. The high-tech gizmo is proving to be motivational for me, working under the principal of getting up and moving to maintain a low level of activity for several hours a day. Consolidating trips to the basement or the upstairs or for errands is out the window--inefficiency is my strategy now, to get up and make as many trips as I can, in addition to regular work outs.

I'm curious about how long you've had this tracker and how well it works. DW and I bought the FitBit activity tracker. I lost one (stupidly didn't have it clipped on well) and bought another. DW's first one died, and we got it replaced under warranty. Then mine died, and her second one died. This is with proper use, and proper charging.

Since then, I got the Nike+ FuelBand tracker. I'm not too fond of it, as it is a rubberized bracelet that becomes very uncomfortable when you are active (the sweat makes it sticky and yucky). After multiple attempts with these devices, I'm not too keen to waste money on another one unless it came highly recommended.

What's your experience so far?

I don't know that the WW/Phillips is much different or any better than the Fitbit Ultra. I see on the Fitbit website that they don't charge extra to use their online tools--I think Phillips includes a year of their site in the cost of the gadget, and WW has a $5/mo charge for that (but charges less for the tracker).

The WW version does plug right into the computer. It's definitely a WW product so wouldn't be useful to people not on that program (it doesn't show calories burned, for example, and it interacts with other WW data). The Phillips version looks like it uses a cord like an iPod would. Neither is wirelessly connected.

I don't know the track record for breakage, but I've not read anything that complains about the WW version not working properly. Very active people say they feel their efforts are under-reported. I've only used it for a month now so I don't know if I'd recommend it or not.

I didn't research other tools like this and maybe would have picked a different one but I'm into the WW stuff right now, and I really like their version of this gadget. My healthy and fit family thinks I'm nuts that I even like using a gadget.

Thanks BWE. We eat pretty healthy meals but too often indulge in "less than healthy" after dinner treats. I know I need to eliminate those for the most part, but DW loves to make me happy, so she buys them for me (what's a guy to do when his lovely bride brings home snacks because she wants to see him smile). We both exercise 4-6 times a week, 50-75 minutes at a time (running, walking, biking are the most frequent), depending on the travel schedule, but the way I see it, getting up and having more "non-exercise activity" is probably key to shedding a few pounds, slowly, over time. The tracker helps, I think as it keeps me on my toes...i.e., I set a daily goal for steps, or "fuel" on the Nike+, and try to beat it daily, and increase the goal in little increments over time. That is where the tracker comes in handy.

Thanks

R
