Easy come, easy go. Didn't even do anything special, just ate only when I was hungry. Apparently wasn't that hungry.

I am SO impressed I can do the first step of putting on weight very quickly but have never mastered the art of losing it so fast

Well done !!

I would just like to point out to Alan and JacqJolie that this IS Saint Patrick's Day, and I couldn't help but notice that you both have 17s in your weigh-ins (177 and 170 respectively)--your pounds are partying on the way down!

Good point!! And DW's maiden name is very Irish. It's a beautiful day and we decided to go for a nice long walk later on - I guess that means 3 miles walking to our favorite Irish Pub, the Goose's Acre, for a few bevvies, and 4 miles walking back (extra mile due to the zig-zagging induced by alcoholic haze)

Alan, I think I lost your water weight for you. I had a colonoscopy the day before yesterday. I think all I lost was water. Of course I also couldn't keep anything down for awhile either. We will see next week.

Good loss JacqJolie...very nice!

Wow JJ - congrats on a great week!

Our apartment complex is having happy hour tonight - drinks and finger food. It might have to suffice as dinner due to the calorie content. Good thing all we have to do is walk (or zig-zag, as per Alan). LOL! That's a good long walk you guys are doing...I'm impressed! Just make sure you don't walk straight into a pole on your way home. Some guy who was walking me home one night from a frat party walked face first into a stop sign. So much for a safe escort home!

Been there, done that (well, not escorting you, and it wasn't a Stop sign, it was a guide wire on a lamppost - knocked me flat on my back )

Heh, heh, heh...I predicted this response even as I was writing my post! I just knew you'd have a story to share!

Last week I didn't post because... I forgot. And because I gained 2.5 lbs. First time since starting WW in December. I knew the day would come -- I've been on the program, was on-points, exercising, etc. So I wasn't terribly worried, but it's not very inspirational to do the work and see the scale tilt up.

Yesterday, though -- lost that 2.5 lbs and another 1.1 on top of that -- and hit the 20 lb milestone. Yay!

Goal this week is to have four solid workouts in the week. Had one Tuesday, will have one tomorrow, and hope for one Saturday and one Sunday. If I can swing a fifth (Monday), I'll be thrilled (my weight-loss week is Tuesday to Monday).

Congrats on the BP, Alan, and welcome back, W2R!

Thanks, Urchina!

I didn't post yesterday because I had eaten Chinese the day before and was afraid to weigh myself. But the scales are always there so this morning I guiltily weighed and found I was down despite everything. Whew! What a nice surprise. I don't usually lose this much weight (and I haven't been this virtuous, sort of haphazardly following Weight Watchers) so some of it has to be that kind of water weight that one usually loses the first week or two. Still, I am SO happy to see it go.

week date D lbs D lbs total
1 Mar 10 - 2.2 - 6.6
2 Mar 17 - 1.8 - 8.4

Alan, I missed that your BP was down. That is wonderful! One of my goals is to eventually get off the BP meds that I had to start last September. I did notice that you are still exercising a lot as well as watching your weight, and that is so admirable.

Happy2bretired and Urchina, congratulations on your great losses this week! And the same to others who lost.

First of all, congrats to you and Urchina and others on your weight loss this week.

On the bp thing, I had a friend at work in the office opposite for the last 18 months (so we talked a lot), and he had an excellent bp story. He is aged 60 and had been on bp meds for about a year and because of me, he started exercising again for the first time in many years. He was mainly using the elliptical trainer, and we talked heart rates, recovery heart rates etc, and after only a few months he was able to stop his meds, and he had been off them about 6 months when I RE'd.

So, it's definitely possible to kick that drug habit of yours

Well, you are down for 6.5lbs for the year and only 5lbs from your target so you are not doing too bad

I weigh each morning and post the Wednesday figure here, unless I know I'm going away. This last 2 days I have weighed in on my target at 175, so it is very tempting to "go out of town" tomorrow......

Maybe I should tape my mouth shut this evening and take some laxatives

Great minds think alike. I have been so "virtuous" all week, and so far it appears I may have gained anyway. But the week isn't over until tomorrow morning, so there is still hope.

On the other hand, we did have Chinese for lunch....

I'm blaming all this on weightlifting increasing muscle, reducing fat, - and muscle weighs more than fat, so I am going to weigh more now that I have increased weight lifting

Yep, last weeks loss was only water weight. Oh well, I feel like that I've pretty much accomplished what I wanted to by getting down to my current level, give or take a couple of pounds. Now, I'm hoping to maintain. IF I continue losing, that would be great, but, no problem if I just maintain. I just don't want to gain.
