Looking at Health Care options in ER.

I am planning on ER in 2008. I have been checking out different methods of obtaining health care.
One senario is stay with my DW plan and when she ER's continue on non group plan, seems a little high (approx 1200/mos)
Second she continues alone and in ER and I go on my own.
My issue is that I currently take 3 prescriptions and was told by one provider that I am a high risk and could not be covered.

I am 57 DW is 56 looking at 2008 as possible ER.
