When I start Medicare next February I will have had 4 health insurance providers in 9 months:
Kaiser (COBRA coverage)
United Healthcare (also COBRA), because we moved out Kaiser's coverage area
Golden Rule, end of COBRA -- I actually had to terminate 21 days early because I could not obtain insurance effective after I reached age 64 1/2
Medicare + a supplement policy
To date Ihave seen my premiums increase and my service level decline. In addition there has been an expenditure of my time and insurance company resources to set up each of these changes with no value add. Single payer anyone?
