New York State Medigap Cost?

I am a bit more than a year out, and trying to figure out what my Medigap costs will be, in NY State.

I am looking at F+, or maybe G.

If you are a New Yorker, and have either of these plans, would you mind sharing with me what your plan is, and what your premium is?

Just go to any medigap site make your birthday such that you are about to become 65 and ask for quotes. Easy to do and at least some don't require full information.

I've done this many times, and I always get crazy quote ranges like "$165 -$400 / month). That information is just about useless.

I've raised this question on other threads and the prevailing thought is that "internet searching" for this information is useless.

I'm thinking there has to be some New Yorkers on the boards who would be willing to share what they ARE paying, and who their provider is.

At least right now on the medicare site you have to drill down one more item.
On the right side click on View companies that offer medigap policy F
for you zip code.
Then select a company and you will get the rates for each plan offered
by that company. Need to click on the company website.
I know it is frustrating until you get used to the system.
Looks like a low offering of Plan F HD, right now have to go to a broker for
some reason from Humana, they seem to be pushing medicare advantage.


For instance the aarp regular plan F in zip 10001 for 2016 is $217.5/month,
they don't seem to have a G plan.

Consider giving Chris Westfall a call. He helped me wade thru the murky jungle of Medigap plan pricing.

I live in Michigan and he found me a Plan G thru Aetna for $113./mo last October when I had to sign up for Medicare. I recommended Chris to some friends. A 69-year old accountant I know ended up calling Chris and saving about $400/month by switching to a lower cost plan.

Chis is licensed in many states. I don't know if NY is one of them.
