The economy and mental health

Within the past week there have been two murder-suicides in Canada. In each case the killer was a retiree. The second apparently was "in poor health".

I wonder if financial concerns played into these tragedies?

We know the cause wasn't their high health care costs. If it had happened in the US, that would have been the next paragraph.
BTW--is two murder-suicides in a one week period in all of Canada an unusual number? Or, is a columinst out there making cause-effect relationships based on a statistical hiccough?
