I finally succumbed and decided to get a colonoscopy. This is a screening colonoscopy -- I don't have issues. Just trying to be a good patient.
I've got good health insurance. Screening colonoscopies are covered at 100%. But....if they find a polyp to remove, or something to biopsy, it turns into a diagnostic colonoscopy. Which means I am liable for my annual deductable ($750, none used yet this year) plus 15% copay.
This is the damn insurance. The doctor's office is being nice and telling me I don't have to show up with a grand just in case.
It's a hell of a system.
