UHC vs Humana?

Anyone ever complained to their state insurance commission? I'm wondering if it's worth the bother since we don't think there was any real damage done and we don't ever plan to deal with UHC again.

I think you should notify the commissioner. Keep the letter short, straightforward and just explain the facts without sounding like you're whining. I don't see a downside and it may help others in the long run.

Yes, the application process can get done in 45 days with no problems (assuming you have a clean medical history).

We decided to go with Humana because of its relatively large coverage territory (we're travelers and want access to in-network doctors in as many states as possible). And also they had a much better prescription drug benefit than the BCBS policy we were also considering.

We thankfully don't use much in the way of medical care, so I don't have any complaints with Humana. Our relationship has been mostly one way . . . we send a check and they cash it.
