What ALWAYS makes you smile?
Yes, an unabashedly positive thread, why not? No right answers of course, just whatever always makes YOU smile, happy, etc. What came to mind first for me: - Sailing
- Dogs
- Dinner at any of our favorite restaurants

Laughing babies.
Puppies.
Sitting on my back porch sofa with a fire in the fire pit, and it being 40 degrees outside.
Seeing a very large commission check hit the bank account.
Having Firecalc say that my plan works 100%.
Being able to fix an appliance just before my wife calls the repairman.
Stepping on the scale to see I lost two pounds

My cocker spaniel trying to be talented as he clumsily does what most cockers do effortlessly.
But, speaking of smiling at people - I once was temporarily located in a large room with a hundred cubicles. No one I immediately worked with was located nearby. I knew no one. I started smiling at people when I happened to pass them on the way to the bathroom. People who looked like they were dragging through the day would perk up their step, smile back and, sometimes, say hi to the stranger that was me as they disappeared back into the maze.

Beauty, seeing my family after a long separation, good food, cats, sitting on my back porch on a crisp autumn evening, sitting by a fire around Christmas time, seeing my net worth go up

Cats, doing almost anything except scratching the furniture. (That gets hand-claps, "bad cat!" and "No!")
Seeing family and friends after absence
Hearing something funny (especially unintentionally funny)
Thinking of something funny (especially if it would shock the people around me if they knew what I was thinking)
I am a smiler by nature, and when we joined the local gym a few months ago I naturally smiled at everyone, since they were all new faces to me. I have been sadly disappointed by the small percentage who smile back, and the large number who seem to be looking in almost any other direction, rather than acknowledge my presence. Am I so hideous?
Incidentally, the nicest, friendliest smiles and greetings seem to come from the lowest-level staff, such as the immigrant lady, with very little English, who cleans the bathrooms and makes the coffee. We get more conversation from her than the more senior staff, let alone our fellow members.

Watching money from my investments come into my checking account every month (confirming the success of my ER plan I devised 5 years ago).
Playing all 7 of my tiles in a Scrabble game (it is called a "bingo" in the Scrabble world).

I hope this works (first time I've ever tried to upload an image).
I can't help but smile every time I look at this.

I can't imagine who wouldn't smile at that pic, even more for you since you're (presumably) related.
I'm enjoying this thread so far. Thanks for all the contributions.
I have to add doing anything outdoors on a perfect Fall day - sunny, mid 60's/low 70's, some breeze - heaven on earth.
