But long term, I think the real opportunities for the Tesla are in Europe. Home of relatively short drives, and tradition of expensive high performance sedans, and $10/gallon gas. The economics of the Tesla make a lot of sense in Europe.
The only problem I have with that is where are they going to get them charged.... a lot of people live in congested cities and do not have a place to park them next to a charger.... IOW, when I lived in London, people lived in mid rise (4 to 6 stories) and if you had a car you parked on the street.... where ever you could find a space.... nobody had a driveway or garage...
When you went out to the burbs, it started to change a bit.... but not for everybody...
