Apple Earnings

What do you think of this play?

- Sell 10 May 185’s
- Sell 10 May $140’s puts
- Buy 12 Jan 09 200’s
- Buy 10 Jul 150 puts.

Profitable between 135 and 208 at may expiration. Max profit at 185. Takes advantage of IV crush.

You took a few cents from me because I'm surfing from a Mac Book. Great design, but as a financial analyst, I still can't get used to the remapped keys in Excel.

This thread might get more attention in the 'Stock picking' forum. I think the OP mistakenly got it in the admin section.

Remapped keys? - they are right where they are supposed to be!

On AAPL earnings: Interesting that the iPod sales finally flattened out, though revenues were up, because of the higher priced 'touch'.

CPU sales were up 51% and 54% (units, revs) Y-o-Y; and just 1% and 2% (units, revs) below the holiday quarter, which is just amazing.

And another $4B cash added in the Q, bringing them over $19B in cash. That's more cash than MSFT now! Yes, MSFT gave $10 to shareholders a while back - but still - $19B!

Can you plug in a snapshot of AAPL and the bid/ask of each of those options - it would be easier for everyone to evaluate with that info in front of all of us.

Are you looking at just the option position, or would you hold the underlying AAPL also?

I sold MAY 190 CC against my AAPL, I won't be sad if I end up having to buy them back to avoid having the stock called, but that does not seem too likely now - ~ $169, and earnign is out there, so big moves should be over for a while.
