Managed ETF's

Newbie here looking for safe harbors with some kind of yield. Have preferred ETF index funds over mutual funds for the equity side of my AA--lower cost and out performing most mutuals my deciding factors.
Last month Pimco came out with a bond ETF fund--TRXT--touted to closely follow their very large bond mutual fund which has an equally large initial buy in. Any thoughts on this relatively new trend? I understand interest rates have only one way to go but believe we're good for 18 months or so.

There are a lot of "talking heads" when it comes to bonds, but I would ride with Bill Gross and his expertise anyday. I think he has been referred to as: "The Warren Buffett of Bonds", that's pretty lofty.........
