I don't know enough about the Japanese economy to do bottom fishing there, though I suspect the rest of the world will recover and be OK.
I spent some time looking at photos on the Web, and felt sick to my stomach of all the destruction caused by the tsunami. Hopefully, bad as it looks, the damages were mostly done to low-lying areas along only portions of the coast. With only 15 minutes between the quake and the arrival of the tsunami, the loss of lives would be even higher if this had happened at night.
I still shuddered at the future effort to clean up and to rebuild. If you were a survivor, would you feel safe going back to the old area to live?
