looks like it's ended it's losing streak and starting to go up. market is close to it's lows and a rally is going to start soon and this looks like a good stock to own for the rally

I have to agree this will be a hot one once the market gets over itself. The company is second to none at what it does. I own this stock.

I'm counting on intel to deal AMD a final blow hopefully soon, and then have an intel vs. nvidia war in graphics, and maybe even CPUs. In an intel vs. nvidia war, I actually like nvidia's chances.

Lots of steals out there, but $7 nvidia is definitely one of them!

Why would a video card company be a good buy right now? Simply because it fell so far? Im asking because a video card is non essential. People dont have much extra to spend. The computer gaming industry has not been doing so hot lately.

Well, the video gaming industry is fairly closely linked to how the economy is doing, since it is a definite big ticket splurge item. As such, buying it now, when it is definitely at a low point, and then selling it when the economy has been doing well for a decent bit, would have a pretty good chance of being successful. If it had competitors, that would be a different story, but that is not the case in that particular industry.

the video card is becoming more important than the general purpose CPU and nvidia makes integrated chipsets where the motherboard chips and the graphics is all in one chip. The new MacBookPro's use these which is why they are so small. the $600 video card is becoming a smaller part of the business.

there are a lot of other applications for their products

The other answer is that video cards is not the only thing nvidia is involved in. They have several exciting projects going on now which can be seen at their website. If that's all they did, I'd hardly be impressed.

I see they're up 15% today, and amazingly AMD went down today.

there was a story a few days ago how Nvidia just released a new card for the professionial market with 4GB of RAM on it. it's aimed at the energy/commodity market for 4D imaging when looking where to drill for oil

they are talking smack about Intel, this company is toast
