I don't understand why Frayne is telling us that he sold all of his socks. I think that he should carefully read, Fox in Socks, by Dr. Seuss and reevaluate.

I'll bet frayne is comfortable managing his socks without the expense of an advisor. He probably doesn't buy individual socks, either.

I sold all my socks and bought into Gold Bond instead.

You really should resist the itch to do that.

How much time of the day you are in socks or out?
I used to like my feet cold. No socks, unless I was wearing shoes. I did not even like to cover up my feet the few times I needed a blanket when sleeping. I would stick my feet out from the blanket. You can say that my sock allocation time was near 0%.
Then, with old age came dry skin and cracked heels, particularly in the winter with dry air. Even with lotion, which I did not care for as I thought that was for women but need it now as the cracks were painful, I have to wear socks around the clock. My sock allocation is now 100%.
See how one has to be flexible and adapt with changing conditions? Stubbornness can hurt, literally.

I hate socks. Gave them up in retirement.
Summer time don't need them and winter time I wear fleece lined slippers.

My Thorlos socks cost $16/pair in 2005. I remember because I thought it was outrageous, but bought several pairs anyway because I was traveling, my feet were desperately cold and hurting from plantar fasciitis, and I felt I needed thick wool socks almost as much as life itself. (Yet another potential hidden cost of travel - - but my feet felt so much better.)
Today, according to the Thorlos website, the same socks cost $21/pair.
That's a price increase of 2.3% per year. Buy and horde sounds better and better!

I don't see why you all are giving upon socks. Studies show people can continue to enjoy socks into their eighties and even beyond.

That sucks, having sold your stock of socks! I'm stuck with my socks as I have stacks of white/black socks in my sock drawer in my stack of dresser drawers right over my dresser drawer full of under drawers.

What!?!
Oh well! If politicians could write off taxes for donating used underwear, of course citizens can write off holey socks too.
