WMT is being beaten to death by Amazon and other retailers, online and bricks and mortar types.
They also have turned most stores into grocery/clothing stores. Try buying a plumbing fitting or most any hardware item.

WMT is a cash cow. They are not going away anytime soon and if they continue to grow their online sales and successfully move into the same day type delivery service they will be direct competition to Amazon.
WMT will continue to raise wages. Because they can afford it and really have no choice. If they want to improve their stores.
WMT definitely faces some huge challenges going forward as do many other retailers like Macy's, Best Buy and Target and Kohl's,etc. but I think WMT will be the last man standing in retail if things do go in that direction.
They have a presence in almost every community in America and a complete distribution network.
If WMTs CEO had played his cards better the stock would still be much higher.
