My brother died months before reaching his 70th birthday in 2009. Since then, we have been serious about our bucket list: One month each in Italy, then France before this last trip. Next year we might just go to Manhatten (although that will be more expensive).

We have always done a lot of travel. In the last ten years, we have been exploring the United States -- five or six times a year we would take off for a (RV) 2-3 week excursion. I have only recently (past year or two) been posting pictures on my Facebook Page... for those interested.

OOH Ron, you've got a couple on my list on your page. I would love to see the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. And I love that houseboat picture from Byron CA. Thanks for sharing.

I think we've decided to drive a short bus around the world, starting next summer (Northern Hemisphere circumnavigation, to be precise). This, according to my boss, is proof that we've jumped the shark.

Seriously? How long are you planning that to take? What is the route? What bus - thought you had an airstream rv? I've got to hear more about your latest adventure. You are always up to something interesting girl!

I ran into these folks ~13 years ago outside Vancouver B.C.

Perhaps you can outdo them.

Perhaps it is time for me to set up a Facebook account, so I can snoop some more on people. :-)

Just clicking on the link and looking at their travel map scared the bejesus out of me. I like to travel, but not anywhere near that degree. Even if someone paid all my expenses to travel like that, I would still have to decline. No, they would even have to pay me a salary to travel like that. No, they cannot pay me enough. I'd still quit after a while.

If I were as rich as Danmar, I would get a place in Yountville for a getaway home. Then, I would also be able to stroll to the French Laundry for dinner every night, as I would of course be able to afford it. I guess Haha is right. How can one have "too much money"?

It's so hard to get a table at the French Laundry nowadays that you might as well forget about buying a place in Yountville.

I do not have that kind of money, but are you sure that the maitre d' cannot be "persuaded" to set up a tiny table for two out in the patio somewhere? Or perhaps I could just tell them to book up a table for two for an entire month of August? It should not be a problem insoluble by money.

Aw, forgget it. There are plenty of other nice restaurants around the area. Thomas Keller may be overrated anyway. I would still get a small cottage in Yountville (for about $700K), and go from there.

Nemo thanks for the story! I'd never heard I them. I read a lot about perpetual travelers and although we love to see new places, there is something about returning home that I can't shake.
These folks are amazing! Still on the road so many years later.

Don't know if you read the comments.....my posts, about meeting them, etc, were under 'Eric'.........when I first saw them, (before their Landcruiser arrived in Vancouver), they were in this tiny tent and driving a rental car....petite people, and always 'dressed up' at the time, they appeared somewhat incongruous in an RV park.

(We had just sold all our camera equipment, so I never got any pics. )

I'm going to the Meadowlands in East Rutherford NJ tomorrow for a JETS game. Section 144, Row 30, right near the end zone.
http://www.seats3d.com/nfl/new_meadowlands/

The invitation is from a former cow*rker whose kid is past the "go to football games with Dad" stage. He has season tickets. Nice to have friends like that. Methinks I shall fill his gas tank.

Mr B has 2 midterms this week, so he is glad that he will have the castle to himself.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!
LETS GO JETS

Went sailing to the Isle of Shoals in early September, and recently returned from a trip to Key West last week. Early November, meeting up with friends for a weekend in Nashville. Making up for lost time last year, LOL!

Didya use the link I posted and punch in Section 144, row 30 ? Can you say "killer seats" ?
Look for me on TV. Bright red windbreaker and black sweatshirt that says Adrondacks with dangling blue/white icicles.
I'm bringing a small pair of binoculars and boy oh boy am I gonna zoom in on the spandex. Wooooooo
I do however have to get up at 5 AM , pull it together in 1 hour, drive to the Schenectady area (2 hours) to arrive by 8:15 AM latest.
Once I get there, I don't have to drive at all. I am the navigator.

Leaving next month for HK, Cambodia, Thailand and Burma. Confirming travel plans within Burma is a PITA. DW and I may be sleeping in the street. All other plans are confirmed. The grandparents are uber excited to get to spend time with their (favorite) granddaughter as well.

Planning next trip - Can't decide between Pakistan, Northern India, Nepal or Tanzania, Zambia, SA.
