Arizona in Janurary

My wife and I are going to Las Vegas on Jan. 2nd.

After a few days we are going to go to Arizona for the month of Janurary.
We have to be home on Feb. 8th so I can leave on a snowmobile trip.

We would like to go to 2 places and spend about 2 weeks in each place in Airzona.

Any suggestions on where we should go?
Do we have to make reservations in advance or can we rent something once we get there?

Depends when you come but there are bowl games in Phoenix the early part of January so you would need to make sure you have reservations. The big question is do you golf? I would recommend a week in Phoenix and maybe a week in Tucson. Trip advisory has a good list of places to visit.

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon will be closed but the South Rim is open year round. Sedona is interesting too.

AZ is a big state. Warmish in January in the south (Phoenix, Tucson). Could be a lot of snow in the high desert (GC, Flagstaff).

In January in Arizona, you could be picking oranges in Phoenix and snowboarding, in a couple of hours in the mountains.
