And don't forget to buy a soft pretzel.

I worked in downtown Philadelphia for over 15 years. Pretzel vendors would be at almost every corner, storing their pretzels in their armpits to keep them warm. In warm weather.....sleeveless t-shirts were often worn, and the pretzels were still in the armpit.

Yum......(gag)

My favorite pretzel vendor story. At least 50 years ago, my Mom took me on a center-city walking trip. She loved to shop at Lit Brothers at 8th and Market. We walked along Market Street, and on each corner was a pretzel vendor. We were stopped, waiting for the light to change, and a nearby pretzel vendor took out a handkerchief, blew his nose in it, and then wiped the inside glass of the case.

There is always work on the bridges. LOL.

I think your sister may be referring to the work on the road bridges over Vine Street.

Construction on Vine Street Expressway bridges has begun

You should come late September. Should be a real joy. Many businesses are closing on Friday, as employees will not be able to get through the security perimeter.
