Group travel for singles

I've been searching for a tour company that is popular with single travelers in the 50+ age range. I have been traveling with Overseas Adventure Travel recently but the group on my last trip included 7 couples and two singles, me and a very elderly woman. As a single woman, I didn't find the social experience fun at all.

So I'm wondering if any single people can tell me about any good experiences you've had with tour companies.

Hi Oldbabe,

I haven't used these services yet, but they look interesting enough that I bookmarked them:

I bought a book on women's travel called Gutsy Women something or another and they have a web site. I've not used the service but they are in the back of my mind in case I ever get "gutsy".

Gutsy Women Travel, Gutsy Women Tours

Thanks. I am familiar with the women only travel tours. I should have said that I'd ideally like to find a tour company that includes men.

Maybe I could ask this another way. Single men, if you were going to go on a group tour (doesn't matter where) what company would you go with and where would you want to go?

I don't know of a company but if it was to be a singles tour I think the best operator would be the one that:
- Tries to balance the male/female ratio
- Has people in the same age range

Where to go - check out www.oattravel.com

Ah, Dex, thanks but my last trip with OAT prompted this post. See my OP.

I meant the locations not the tour operator.

Oldbabe,

What have your local travel agents suggested? That would be my only other suggestion.

Sorry, Dex, I misunderstood. I have a long list of travel locations, deciding on one is my problem.

Thanks very much for the links! The Singles Travel Service has "boomer only" trips. I will investigate these.
