Help with Monthly Rental in Costa Rica
Hello fellow retirees, need some travel help.
Last December wife and I spent several weeks wandering through the forests and beaches of Costa Rica. Was a fantastic trip. This winter instead of using hotels we want to rent some place for a month along the pacific coast and use that as a base.
Anybody have any resources that I can tap into to find a monthly rental? I haven’t a clue where to start looking. Would need to be 2 bedroom minimum and knowing my wife, very close to the beach.
Cheers.

We rented privately in Cocoa Beach. It was close to the beach. It is no longer available but there were/are lots of rentals in the area. Just google rentals or real estate offices in your preferred area.
We rented for a month. We had a car rental as well and made many day trips to various beaches. Lots of choices in Guanacaste, Nicoya Peninsula, and the Jaco area. We particularly liked Samara. Tamarindo was a bit too crowded for us.
Good luck. We too love the country.

We've never been to Costa Rica but have found great places in Asia, Europe and the U.S. through AirBnB. You can filter for what you want (entire place, 2 BR, kitchen, etc.) Most listings have lots of photos and customer reviews. There is also a map search that lets you focus on a specific neighborhood or region.
A quick check shows several near the coast under $1000 / month, and a lot of choices in the $1000-$3000 / month range.
We have looked into VRBO but the listings seem much more expensive although there are more resort-type options available. I guess it depends on your budget and expectations.

We were on the back half of a seven month trip so we were quite happy to get a condo for a month. Plus, our son joined us for a week.
Had we not been on an elongated trip, one month would have been too long for us. We would have opted for a week or so at several different places. Saw some rental units advertised at Flamingo Beach when we were there.
Google will be your friend.

Thanks for the responses.
We’ve used VRBO for domestic rentals but didn’t think about it for Costa Rica. Will do some searching with both VRBO and airB&B and see what we can find.

We have booked rentals on the Pacific coast (Guanacaste region)in the past through Blue Water Properties of CR. They were very responsive and helpful. They may offer a discount for a longer term rentals. There are also good suggestions on TripAdvisor regarding some of the best areas to rent/visit, depending on your interests.
