Travelin' Man

I just came across this video on Youtube and thought it interesting.

YouTube - Travelin Man

I would be fascinated to learn the back story of "my year off work". (plus, I love the music).

what i find interesting, or maybe just really sad, is that there is not a single person other than mike the narrator in either the above feature film or in his video profile YouTube - mcmark99's Channel. the video profile is especially pathetic. he talks about his hometown which he says has a variety of cultures. and to illustrate, he shows where each group eats or hangs out but he doesn't show the people. there are no people. what happened to the people? there are cars & buildings & landscape and he claims culture. but it's a little creepy. this guy must be the only person on his planet. wanna bet all that video was done with his own tripod? does he have any friends? he couldn't find a stranger to interview? to film? the back of someone's head? would people ruin the culture he's discussing?

i have seen similar in other travel videos & online photo albums. it is as if they are still on their couch, all by themselves, only they moved the couch outdoors and stuck a camcorder in the armrest. their feet might be traveling, but they are still watching t.v.

A very astute observation. I also noticed that there were no other human beings in the photos and suspected that he set up a tripod and time delay. I wonder if his "year off" required spending time alone in order to clear his head. As I said, I would be fascinated to learn the backstory. I didn't check his profile.
