Gorgeous sunset Brad!

I've been to a few Club Meds in my salad days. Nowadays I want a bit more luxury.

So, you came back early and wouldn't stay there again, sounds like there's a story to tell. Want to share?

It's geared for young adults who want to party all night, not folks who want to get a good night's sleep. Other than the part about not being as good as other places I've been in terms of access to good snorkeling, it was fine. After a couple of nights of DW not sleeping, NOBODY was happy!!!

That's a shame it turned out that way. I've never stayed at a Club Med so had no idea. Grace Bay certainly is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen but Provo doesn't seem to have much character or charm to it. All seems very new and almost sterile. Didn't want to say this prior to your trip though as I hate to impose my negative impression on someone else right before they leave on an eagerly anticipated vacation.

No, you're right! We like to go exploring when we go to the islands but there wasn't much to see. I asked around and the people who had been there a while working confirmed that. Hate to keep going back to it but the architecture last year on Bonaire was pretty cool and we rented a car and drove the island. Saw flamingos in their native habitat. Saw the old slave huts where the salt operations are (depressing!). Didn't bother to rent a car on Provo.

Many Club Meds are geared for 20 and 30 somethings. I went to Oaxaca in my 30s and shared a suite with someone I met for the first time (we got along very well) and had some hilarious water aerobics with the gay group that was just leaving. I went to Albufeira a few years later and it was a more 'mature' crowd, but still a lot of fun. I don't think the Oaxaca Club Med is there any more: the resort was sold to another company.

Interesting term "salad days " . The only salad I saw during my club Med days was the celery stalk hanging out of a bloody Mary .

Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I will post a couple of pictures from my trip to Guatemala later this month.
