Vegas! Weed? Wheee...

https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/p...and-stockpile/

I've got a Vegas trip coming up in July, when what do I see above? Recreational marijuana legal in Vegas July 1!

From the article, it sounds like they'll be sold out while they work out supply chain issues by the time I get there. Probably a good thing for my Blackjack, but it sure could be fun at the craps table, or other diversions.

Although rec use of the sticky icky is legal in Vegas, there are limitations. From the Las Vegas Sun. https://lasvegassun.com/news/2017/ja...creational-ma/

Where can I go to smoke marijuana?

Users can ingest the plant only at their private residences. All public places — such as parks, campgrounds and national forests — will be off-limits, as will bars, coffee houses, casino-hotels and even the marijuana store where the product is purchased.

Segerblom said such a dynamic creates a problem for more than 45 million tourists who visit Las Vegas each year. With casinos and hotels saying no to marijuana, he hopes such laws will be lightly enforced.

It will be interesting to see how this new law impacts others states. Also, to see how long this law lasts. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, I am not for it or against it. But I will be watching from afar to see what happens and how it impacts Nevada.

Better get it as soon as you arrive. I just heard a news report that a Nevada court ruled that their law required that liquor distributors should have gotten a two year monopoly on distribution to dispensaries. According to the report existing stocks can be sold but no new distributions until the liquor distributors can learn the business and take over which could take quite a while.

If Vegas banned actual cigarettes in casinos/hotels, I'd be more interested.

Eating is undetectable. However for some people the effects can be very different and intense. Start slowly.

Vaping concentrate(again watch dosage) can be done discreetly, vaping dry flower has a mild odor that doesn't resemble cannibis combustion. Either disposable electric vapes or permanent ones heated by a small butane torch are relatively inexpensive.

Never cared much for marijuana. Heck I've had my fill of alcohol too for the most part (well except for beer). When in Vegas I try to go easy on the beer too since I don't need much encouragement to get really crazy at the tables. More than once, on a bad weekend, I have left the price of a fancy new car on the tables. Hate to think (but I might like to remember) what I'd do drinking to much and smoking that stuff at the same time.

+1

Edibles are my favorite, but they have a s-l-o-w ramp up time. For me it’s 45-60 minuets. Other people wait 90+ minutes for it to kick in. Effects can last 3-5 hours.

Vaporization changed everything for me. No mess, red eyes, or lingering smell. I keep a small vape in my bike saddle bag for those long rides.

I'm fine with legalizing it, but I'm NOT fine with being exposed to second hand fumes. I would not frequent a place where marijuana smell is ubiquitous. Period

Probably doesn't matter much to Vegas as I'm not much of a gambler either....

Try drinks they seem to hit quickly like 15 minutes. They make a root beer flavored one. Take a partial root beer float and add your juice, yummy. Nice full fat ice cream helps it absorb.

I waited a day to see if this thread would get killed, since it didnt ill put in my 2 cents. Im not liking this thread. Since its a federal law still , I find this somewhat equal to a thread on how to cheat on your federal income tax return. Or here is another way (like tobacco, booze) that our children and grandchildren can get more lazy and unproductive. Ill leave it like that, as most of you know, I could go on a huge rant about this subject, and Porky will enter the scene. I am however ready to defend my position if anyone wants to banter with me.

Marijuana has helped a lot of people with cancer or chronic pain to manage their conditions. While I don't used it I definitely was for it being legal here. It also has been used successfully for kids with certain conditions/diseases but for them they take out the part that makes you high. When it was not legal people would still buy it. I view it like prohibition which did not work either.

Your referring to medical marijuana, this is recreational.

I fly to LAS regularly for work and I've noticed an increase in the amount of weed I can smell. What's really interesting is that the past 3 times I've went to the rental car center, there was a very strong odor of weed outside the center.

Note that the piece was at least sloppily written, in that it does not mention BLM land (which is most of the state) If you bought you weed went for a drive up the Extraterrestrial highway and pulled of on a dirt track what would that be, (or perhaps an old mining claim)
