We don't need no stinkin' dollars

But under new currency laws that took effect last month along the Mexican Riviera and elsewhere, restaurants, stores and other businesses can now accept a maximum of $100 in cash per transaction.
Mexico currency laws make it tougher to pay in dollars -

And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.

And even more shocking, the 7-11 refused to take Mexican pesos in payment last time I returned from Mexico with extras. The nerve!

Luckily there are ATMs all over Mexico that let you tap your account with a debit card and get Pesos at a pretty good rate that changes daily. When I was there (Quintana Roo) about a year ago we used to tap the ATM about every other day for a couple of hundred bucks at a whack.
