Even Florida for Christmas weddings is iffy . Two of Gary's sons got married at Christmas time . The first son lucked out and the weather was perfect . They had an outside reception at a museum courtyard and it was a beautiful night . The second son got married at the Ringling Museum and it was a damp cold night . The guests were leaving right after the wedding and the bridesmaids had ski jackets over their dresses .

I live in Minnesota and I don't know ANYONE who got married in December. November maybe, occasionally March, but December It's impossible to look nice (hat hair, bulky shoes), and travel is extremely unpredictable.

But have a fun time! There won't be much else to do, so it's good you like the new couple!

Here you go! I got married in December. And not only that, we went to Thunder Bay, Ontario for the weekend after we got married.

Because it will make you appreciate what you have when you land in Tampa again. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, or something like that...

That is hardcore! I went to Thunder Bay and Sleeping Giant in September one year, and even then it wasn't very warm. I better stop b*tching about the cold & snow here!

... Rich, we realize it probably took a bit of badgering to get you to go to this Wisconsin Winter Wedding, but don't be cheesy about it- it probably won't be the wurst trip you ever took.

I seem to be bumping into former Wisconsinites with small children in Portland & Los Altos ... who they plan to take the family to Wisconsin for Christmas.

At first it sounded crazy, but then I have been guilty of taking our kids to Idaho and Utah for skiing New Years week.

Travel safely, now that you are retired snow delays on the return part of the trip are no big deal.

Back from the tundra.

The groom was 6'7"; best man 6'7" and even the women in the wedding were 5'10" and above. It was like Lilliput.

Boy, can they drink in Wisconsin.

We had a blast despite single digit cold temps, with blue skies. Really special seeing the young men and women who were in grade school last time we saw them.

They should have formed a co-ed basketball team for the wedding reception
