YouTube - Hillary Clinton Stokes False Rumors about Obama's Faith

Senator Obama doesn't beat his wife. As far as I know. There is no basis for that. Not to my personal, direct, knowledge, anyway.

Personally, I don't see what difference his faith, or lack of faith, makes to his eligibility for the job. There is absolutely no reason why a Muslim, or a Jew, or an Atheist, could not make an excellent president. And only an ignorant bigot would assume that any and all Muslims are per se Al-Qaeda sympathizers.

He probably figures that there is a reasonable chance that the Clinton and Obama planes will crash into each other as they criss-cross all these states trying to meet as many people as they can.

Might as well be ready, just in case....

Why does a picture pop into my head, of Hillary turning to her campaign manager (whoever that is this week) and saying ' how do we stand in the polls with undecided ignorant bigots? Any upside for us there? ' ?

Would that ever make great headlines!! What a story!! Hillary and Barrack fall to earth in a firery embrace after their planes collide over Washington DC. Was it an act of terrorism? Is it Bush's fault? Would Bill have Monica on the phone before Hillary's body bounced the second time? Would Rev Wright overcome hard feelings and conduct Barrack's funeral service? How would Sen Gravel work out as our next President?

Oh gawd almighty.....what are the odds?

One has to wonder if the person who tagged this thread with "another Jesse Jackson" was referring to Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton?

It is unfortunate that Mrs. Clinton is bringing up race this late in the campaign but it should not surprise people because it has been about race all along. Just look at the comments by Mr. Clinton in S.C, the Clinton's campaign's alleged use of Mr. Obama's photo in the cultural attire of his ancestor's country and at the implications by some in the media that Mr. Obama is a Mus·lim because of his name and her·i·tage.

Folks it appears that the campaign will get nastier as push comes to shove and the prospects of a possible Obama victory becomes a reality.

I have to agree with Wags. There has been a persistent leakage of potentially damaging race-related material on Obama. Wonder where it came from?

Hillary's endgame will determine how she is viewed by history. I was hoping she would look toward the benefit of the Democratic Party and use her last campaign days to honor herself and her colleagues. Sadly, that Clinton venom is still there and she just can't seem to resist attempting to spit venom in Obama's eye.

I want to be rid of the Clintons and all the deceipt and manipulation they stand for.

This is in NO WAY an accusation, but never underestimate the underhandedness of a politician (or more likely over-zealous promoters). In Chicago, when Harold Washing ton was running for Mayor, there were reports of some really disgusting pamphlets being spread around that said 'bad stuff' about Mr. Washington. Later, there were reports that those pamphlets were actually being spread by his own people, in an attempt to make the opposition look like a bunch of bigots. Kind of a double-spy thing.

I'm not even sure that story ever panned out, but I wouldn't put it past someone.

Good point ERD50. Yep, there is more and more talk that Obama's own operatives and political machine have been planting evidence to make the Clinton camp look like racists. Some of his camp have been dissappointed there haven't been more opportunities to slam the race card down on the table......

Of course, most everything said of the Clinton camp is true too....

Ugly, ugly stuff on both sides.

Frankly, despite how ugly the Dem campaigns have been, I've been surprised they haven't been worse.

McCain will be the benefactor of the ugliness. Hillary won't give up until the Democratic National Convention. I don't see her dropping out until she's not selected as the nominee.

So, OWG has time to plan his strategy........

Mr. Bill Clinton at his best?

YouTube - Bill Clinton Argues With Voter (CBS News)

Hey Folks, it is going to get very very interesting as the hammer (I'm not talking about Mr. Tom "the Hammer" DeLay) is about to come down as the process heads into the home stretch of selecting a nominee for the Democrats.

GOD BLESS US ALL and TO ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Why should she? She's playing within the rules of the DNC and still has a chance to win in a convention floor shoot-out.

If Dems don't like her hanging in the race, they should change the rules so that when candidates get behind, they are automatically excluded.

Besides, this has made for great TV. Normally my Comcast cable service consists of 60 channels of boredom...... But lately half the channels are showing Barrack and Hillary blasting one another. Or some of their operatives preaching conspiracy theories about wrong doings being committed by the other camp. It's great fun!

The Presidential Debates this fall might be the first ones worth seeing since Ross Perot in 1992.........

Great entertainment or cheap entertainment?

There is a great article by Peggy Noonan in the WSJ - Damsel of Distress.

Declarations - WSJ.com

Excerpts from the article

The Democratic Party can't celebrate the triumph of Barack Obama because the Democratic Party is busy having a breakdown. You could call it a breakdown over the issues of race and gender, but its real source is simply Hillary Clinton. Whose entire campaign at this point is about exploiting race and gender.

Mr. Begala more or less accused the Obama people of not caring about white voters: "[If] there's a new Democratic Party that somehow doesn't need or want white working-class people and Latinos, well, count me out." And: "We cannot win with eggheads and African Americans." That, he said, was the old, losing, Dukakis coalition.

"Paul, baby," Ms. Brazile, who is undeclared, began her response, "we need to not divide and polarize the Democratic Party. . . . So stop the divisions. Stop trying to split us into these groups, Paul, because you and I know . . . how Democrats win, and to simply suggest that Hillary's coalition is better than Obama's, Obama's is better than Hillary's -- no. We have a big party, Paul." And: "Just don't divide me and tell me I cannot stand in Hillary's camp because I'm black, and I can't stand in Obama's camp because I'm female. Because I'm both. . . . Don't start with me, baby." Finally: "It's our party, Paul. Don't say my party. It's our party. Because it's time that we bring the party back together, Paul."

In case you didn't get what was behind that exchange, Mrs. Clinton spent this week making it clear. In a jaw-dropping interview in USA Today on Thursday, she said, "I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on." As evidence she cited an Associated Press report that, she said, "found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

End of excerpts.

It is that it appears that the Clintons made the campaign about race and gender.

God Bless Us All

Hillary is a fighter, and i don't think she should be shouted down/out of the race. Nobody can say that she hasn't been dedicated to the Democratic party--since before Obama was born. She'll continue to run, and to make her points. Now, possibly at some point she'll trade in the support she's for something she wants from Obama. Maybe she'll quit her race and agree to start campaigning for Obama in exchange for:
-- A good spot in the new administration
-- Payoff of her campaign debts by the Obama campaign
-- His agreement to pursue a few of her policy ideas--in her way.

She'll continue to fight, and her point that she's a stronger candidate against McCain is not an insignificant one.

Latest estimate of the delegate count if the general election were held today:

Obama vs McCain: 254 to 273 (plus 11 ties)
Clinton vs. McCain: 280 to 258
