I guess Mr. Obama just might win.

NC - Obama 56% Clinton 42%
IND - Clinton 51% Obama 49% (still too close to call)

Reports are that Mrs. Clinton will meet with undecided superdelegates in DC tomorrow.

So it appears that the fight for the nomination will continue on.

GOD BLESS US ALL

Define 'win'.

Hillary talks up the popular vote, and here's that (early) info:

Indiana
91 percent reporting
% Dels
Clinton 51 31
Obama 49 27
Vote margin: 20,957

North Carolina (Winner: Obama)
99 percent reporting
% Dels
Obama 56 44
Clinton 42 35
Vote margin: 226,340

And I'm reading that votes are still being counted in Gary. So Hillary may have lost over 200,000 votes tonight.

Not that that will stop her

Clinton Aides Doubtful About Future, Washington Post: Following Disappointing Night, Candidate Renews Efforts to Get Party to Admit Michigan, Florida Votes - CBS News

When Mrs. Clinton's own aides have doubts about the future I guess it time to bring out the song by Dandy Don "it's time to turn out the lights the party is over".

If Mrs. Clinton does drop out of the race one of the good things will be that we will get to see more of the Obama girl.

Pundits declare the race over

International Herald Tribute - Americas - Pundits declare the race over

Pundits declare the race over - International Herald Tribune

The political pundits such as

Tim Russert of NBC News - "We now know who the Democratic nominee's going to be, and no one's going to dispute it,"

Chris Wallace of Fox News - "I think there's an increasing presumption tonight that Obama's going to be the nominee,"

George Stephanopoulos of Good Morning America - "This nomination fight is over."
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And then there is the GREAT George McGovern asking Mrs. Clinton to drop out of the race.

McGovern, former Clinton backer, urges her to drop out

Folks it does not GOOD for Mrs. Clinton.

I guess Mr. Clinton just might have been wrong in his assestment to Gov Richardson that Mr. Obama could not win.

GOD BLESS US ALL

I'm changing my past prediction... November will be:

McCain (R)
Gore (D)
Clinton (I)
Bloomberg (I)

Possible plot twist: Terrorist activity that causes Bush to 'delay' the elections for 'a while'

We'll see. Go read the post that you opened this thread with: Clinton told Richardson that Obama couldn't win the general election. We'll know the answer to that in November.

The nomination has been STOLEN from Her! Stabbed in the BACK by her own PAR-TY, she is justified in pursuing the third-party option that has long been rumored. Go, Hillary, Go!

Clinton's chances trading for 9 cents on the dollar

Henry B. Tippie College of Business :: News and Information

Quote:
The contract price for Clinton on the IEM's Democratic Nomination Market stood at 9 cents as of 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday, well off the 26 cents she had been trading for at midnight Tuesday and the 22 cents she had been trading for during the day. The price means that IEM investors believe there is only a 9 percent probability that she will be the Democratic Party's nominee for president.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama's contract was trading at 87 cents this morning, up from the 74 cents he had been trading at during the day Wednesday. The number means that investors believe there is an 87 percent probability that Obama will be the Democratic nominee.

Let''s see Mrs. Clinton is not leading in the pledged delegates and she is not leading in the popular vote so how is it that the nomination was stolen from her? And how was she was stabbed in the back by her own party?

As for running as an independent Mrs. Clinton is having money problems so how is she going to pay for a general election run?

GOD BLESS US ALL

Sam is right (as always ) . The election was stolen from her. It is quite clear from the constitution that is is her right to be president.

US Constitution Article II

Quote:
(The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed...

In the event that one of the candidate is named William Jefferson Clinton, or is any way related to William Jefferson Clinton, by blood or by marriage, that candidate will have certified as receiving the majority of all electoral votes and shall be duly sworn as President

Fortunately, Chelsa is still eligible.

Might be tough for Gore to unite the party, he couldn't even carry his home state when he ran............

Does that state 'count' though?

The Dems seem to have a real problem with 'counting', whether it is 'counting' votes, or deciding whose votes 'count'.

Or deciding whether they want to say that the popular votes 'count' more than the electoral college, or 'count' more the party nomination delegates, or ....?

Which votes 'count' seems to depend on the answer you are looking for.

The GREAT Al Gore is way to busy saving the world to worry about running for the office presently held by Mr. Bush.

He is currently the undisputed champion when it comes to collecting awards - Nobel Peace Prize, An Emmy and a Grammy.

GOD BLESS US ALL

Perhaps HE will run for president! After all, (he thinks) he has all the answers to society's problems. And narcissism is an obvious requirement for the country's highest elected office.

NY Times The Caucus - Clinton Touts White Support

Clinton Touts White Support - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog

Excerpts from the article

On Tuesday night, we mentioned the dustup between two Democratic pundits, Ms. Brazile and Mr. Begala, who engaged in a prime-time debate about the coalitions being built by Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton. Mr. Begala, a Clinton supporter, said the party could not win in November with just “eggheads and African-Americans,” that the party could not ignore white middle-class voters. Ms. Brazile, who said she was not “undecided but undeclared” when it came to her choice for a candidate, shot back that Mr. Begala’s notions were dividing the party. (And that she’d chugged down many a beer with Joe and Jane “six-pack” in an effort to woo white voters.)

We’re revisiting their spirited exchange to demonstrate how divided party loyalists are right now.

End of excerpts.

When you have two former Clinton advisors, Ms. Brazile and Mr. Begala, going at it over the campaign one might come to the conclusion that things are not well in the land of oz, I mean the land of clinton.

GOD BLESS US ALL
