Let's see. The process starts by separating water into its elements and ends by recombining the elements into water. Unless conservation of energy has been repealed that's enough to prove it's a hoax.

In more detail, the process uses energy (electricity) from your battery to separate the oxygen and hydrogen in water molecules. That energy is partially recovered by recombining the oxygen and hydrogen to (re) produce the same amount of water. You can rest assured that you will not get more energy from recombining the elements than it took to separate them. In fact you will lose energy as heat. The system will actually reduce your vehicle's gas mileage.

You just took someone's get-rich-quick-scheme, put it in a blender, fed it to the dog, gave the dog exlax, took what came out, baked it into a cake, and fed it to someone's greedy imagination. I hope you're happy!

On 4/21/08 the price of a gallon of gas was $3.41 and today 4/24/08 it is $3.49. A jump of 8 cents in 3 days.

At this rate we will be at $4.29 a gallon in 30 days.

Now that will really put a dent in one's pocketbook.

Relative to Crude, Gasoline Never Been Cheaper

FT.com - Petrol price at historical low, study claims

Standalone refineries are breaking even, caught between the high crude price and price resistance at the pump.

How can this be? Non US demand for crude- so that the falling growth in US gasoline sales has limited feedback in into crude prices which are set internationally.

Has anyone calculated how much this is going to actually raise their annual cost on gas? For me it looks like about $350-400 this year. Most people could make that up by making their 12 pack last two weeks instead of one. Or save their beer and donate their stimulus payments to the pump. Or sell a kidney on the black market. Anything but give up the beer.

$4/ gallon soon... $10/gal several years from now.

The USA needs alternative energy in a large way.

I think if we pave the way for alternative (greener solutions) we can lead in new industries, help with Global Climate change and rid ourselves from the middle east scourge of dependence on that unstable area of the world.

I think the US can lead in this area of technology...

My gas bill for the year should drop (at current rates) about 25%
Of course, when it came time for me to buy I car late last year I bought one that got about twice the mpg
So personally, no, I am not all that upset. Not thrilled but not royally ticked off yet.
Economical hydrogen powered cars are many years off. Electric cars for daily use are the way to go. The technology is available, we just need the big three to get on board (and not jump ship like they did in the 90s).

Gas prices in my neck of the woods (West Texas) continue to go UP.

4/21/08 - $3.41 a gallon
4/24/08 - $3.49 a gallon
4/29/08 - $3.62 a gallon

Folks that is a jump of 21 cents a gallon in about 9 days.

But yet the oil companies continue to show record profits.

USA Today - BP and Shell post big profits in era of record oil prices

BP and Shell post big profits in era of record oil prices - USATODAY.com

Where is the GREAT AL GORE when we need him?

Has a mechanic ever gotten electrocuted working on a hybrid or was Ford acting out of an excess of caution? Is the charge in a hybrid's batter enough to kill someone?

Don't know about anybody dying but from what I hear it can kill you.

From what I read it's also a problem if you have a bad accident. Some day we'll all be saving each other with wooden sticks. We'll have to carry them like spare tires.

NBC News - Siphoning off corn to fuel our cars - As farmers feed ethanol plants, a costly link is forged between food and oil

Siphoning off corn to fuel our cars - Washington Post - MSNBC.com

Excerpts from the article

Although ethanol was once promoted as a way to slow climate change, a study published in Science magazine Feb. 29 concluded that greenhouse-gas emissions from corn and even cellulosic ethanol "exceed or match those from fossil fuels and therefore produce no greenhouse benefits." By encouraging an expansion of acreage, the study added, the use of U.S. cropland for ethanol could make climate conditions dramatically worse. And the runoff from increased use of fertilizers on expanded acreage would compound damage to waterways all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Development specialists have also joined the fray. "While many are worrying about filling their gas tanks, many others around the world are struggling to fill their stomachs, and it is getting more and more difficult every day," World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick said in a recent
speech.

End of excerpts.

It appears that the increased use of corn for ethanol is not only driving up food and feed costs, and creating food shortages but also damaging the en·vi·ron·ment.

Maybe it's time that the U.S revisit the use of HEMP as an alternate fuel source.

GOD BLESS US ALL

Don't worry about gas prices. The God and Guns brigade has the answer: Streetsblog » Americans Turn to Prayer at the Pump.
