How long did it take you to vote?

Just curious, if you voted, how long did it take you to wait in line and vote. Seems to me like it is a VERY inefficient method, from my experience.

No line. Took a couple of minutes to walk there, I voted, picked up my "I Voted" sticker, went and chatted with the ladies having a bake sale in the church basement which also served as our voting place. Walked home. Maybe 15 minutes passed.

I like the community of voting together and seeing our neighborhood characters.

About five minutes or so. The ten-minute drive to the school took longer than voting.

Could you either modify the poll to allow voting more than once or give more specific instructions on which of our votes you want timed? The first? The second? ..... The Xth? Average all 11?

5 minutes at most -- 15 if you count travel to and from. The poll workers indicated there was a short line at the open.

ACORN signed me up to vote 73 times. It is going to take a while, since some of the polling places are so far apart.

No waiting for me, either, but that wasn't entirely by accident.

This morning at 5:50 AM, on my way to work, I saw around 100-200 people lined up in the dark outside the place where I vote. It wasn't even open yet and they looked exhausted and miserable. Then, from the window of my office, I could look down and see a line extending a long way and around the corner from another polling place. So, I decided to use some comp time and take the afternoon off to vote.

I voted at 1:40 (figuring that the lunch crowd would be gone by then). I was third in line. The first person was at the wrong place, but didn't speak English well so everyone was trying to give him directions he could understand. There was a lot of pointing and flailing of arms. The second person was a very old woman who I let go in front of me because she was older than Methuselah and feeble.

They said I was #600 for the day to vote in our precinct. That is a LOT for this precinct. We vote in a one car garage just down the street.

About 20 minutes of waiting, which is crazy for our polling place (garage in suburbia). But I guess it makes sense since the state university is just a couple miles away and there were more young people in line this year.

Oh yeah, and the electronic voting machine(s) didn't work, so we were using scantrons. I'm not sure if they were meant for the visually impared or what, but the poll workers were standing their scratching their heads as the machine made VERY disturbing noises, the kind you'd expect from something mechanical with moving parts, like a gear grinding.

I hear it's much worse elsewhere, I hope it's isolated events.

DH reported a 2 hour wait in our very rural area. I tried not to gloat as I reminded him that I offered repeatedly to get him an absentee ballot but he insisted on being "part of the process".

DD voted on her way to work and the line was 45 minutes. DS and I were lazy and drove down there at 9:40 am. We drove the 2 miles both ways and voted and were home in a total of about 15 minutes. They had 2 precients voting in the same LDS Church and the other group had a 20 minute wait. Ours had no wait at all!

My personal quickest voting time.

Left the house at 2 this afternoon, back at 2:30. No line and four poll workers signing people in instead of the usual one and about 10 voting machines instead of the usual 3. Lots of issues, judges and even the coroner were on the ballot so it took a little longer than usual to vote.

The local Kroger store had their usual request to sell beer on the ballot again. Hasn't happened in 33 years, guess there is always a chance though.

Early Bird voter here.....in line (in the rain) at 6:55 AM (poles opened here at 6 AM), walking out the door at 7:25....but it looked like I had come along with about 200 others to vote early - thinking that the line might be there all day - but there were less than 10 people in line when I was leaving so looks like I chose the wrong time to go ......even so, one of the election officials (my neighbor) stated that by 7:15 AM they had ALREADY registered more votes for this election than for any other in the precinct's history....and she has been doing this stuff for a LONG TIME!

I was surrounded by other voters who were voting for the 1st time (and they were living in the retirement community where we vote!)....so no matter the results, it is impressive to see the extent to which the candidates messages have resonated with new voters!

I voted after my round of golf(my priorities are in order) around 2:00pm. I walked in and there was only one person voting. I entered my vote on the touch pad computer screen and was out of there in less than 5 minutes.
