McCain - Obama - Barr November Matchup

Now that Rep. Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate, I'm wondering how that will affect the November race.

I believe that Mr. Barr will take some of the conservative votes away from Mr. McCain.

Probably very little, though I would expect Barr to garner a respectable vote total in comfortably Republican states where people may feel more free to vote their conscience without tipping their state to the Democrats.

I think plenty of Democrats and left-leaning independents feel sufficiently burned by Nader in 2000 to repeat that mistake.

Republicans and right-leaning independents haven't learned that lesson and let the Libertarian vote tip an election to the Democrats, though.

McCain - Obama - Barr - Nader - Baldwin - Clinton - Martha

Someone nominated her on another thread. She's an attorney like the others, only less focused on personal fame and fortune. Hmmmm..... I suppose that lack of greed and ego will probably get her noplace in our political world.......

Barr in November

The only place Bob Barr might have an impact is in his home state of Georgia. He might take enough away from McCain to put Georgia in play for Obama. Otherwise, Georgia is a solid Red State.

In some conservative circles Mr. Barr is still well thought of for his charge in the impeachment proceedings against Mr. Clinton.

Everybody does remember the chapter with the full figured intern, the blue dress and Mr. Clinton's denials under oath.

God Bless Us All
