Obama- New Leadership for the Democratic Party?

Acording to a recent Reuters Poll, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have pulled an upset: They have managed to make George Bush twice as popular as Congress.

An even bigger majority, 83 percent, say the Democratic-controlled Congress is doing only a fair or poor job — the worst mark for Congress in a Zogby poll.

In the national survey of 1,012 likely voters, about 66 percent said Bush had done only a fair or poor job as president, with 34 percent ranking his performance as excellent or good…While 83 percent said Congress was doing a fair or poor job, just 14 percent rated it excellent or good.

Last October, in its final days, the Republican-led Congress earned ratings of excellent or good from 23 percent of voters.

Got that? The Democratic Party gets 14% job approval. Bush 34%.
If this were a Little League game, the 10-run rule would apply.

Congressional Democrats are spinning their wheels trying to “get” George Bush. Democrats promised not to waste their time impeaching Bush. That is what they are doing. The public disdain for Democrats is overwhelming.

It took 12 years for Republicans to drop to 23%. Dems already are down to 14%. After Two years! 14% job approval.
Nixon did better. On the day he left office!

I think you should take your propaganda elsewhere. Let's have a legitimate discussion about politics, not a Republican talking points forum. The last time I checked, there were both Republicans and Dems in Congress and Reps blocked many good legislations the Dems tried to put forward. Satan can often cite scriptures for his purpose.

Propaganda? This is the Soap Box. That's the proper forum for political discussions

"Let's have a legitimate discussion about politics?"

Fire Away! I would really like to hear what the Democratic Party has accomplished since they took control of Congress in 2006.

Suggested talking points would be what they are doing about: gas prices, the mortgage meltdown, the decline in the stock market- all of which are post- 2006 issues- and the fact that things are taking a positive turn Iraq- despite the determination of the Democratic Senate and House leadership to cut and run.

The Democrats are quick to blame Bush for everything that goes wrong - international disasters, forest fires, floods, tornadoes, economy, ecology, pestilence, disease, athletes foot, global warming, the price of oil, and our playground manners in the Middle East sandbox. What solutions have they offered for anything since 2006? They have the majority in both houses of Congress and should be able to muster some sort of an agenda- what significant legislation have they put forth that has been vetoed?

What does Satan have to do with this?- you are mixing politics and religion, never a good combination- look how it's working out for Barack and Rev. Wright

Nancy Pelosi, leading the Democrats into office in 2006 said that they had a plan to bring down high gasoline prices. Gasoline is now up almost 50% since then.

You are welcome to counterpoint his arguments with your own. That's what the Soapbox was created to allow. As long as folks remain civil and follow the rules, all is good.

If it were up to me, I would fire the entire current Congress and start over with a fresh slate, including term limits, age limits, and making sure the Congress was demographically balanced, not filled with folks that have NO IDEA how the average American lives.......
