I do not entirely hate the Fed like many of the Austrians out there, but it was a very tough call on the left side of the bracket in between the Realtors and Bernanke. I ended up going with the Realtors, pushing off real estate as above and beyond the market and an ungodly investment that will produce incredible investment returns with no risk time after time after time. Leverage yourself as far as you can, interest rates are low and will stay low, interest-only loans, take an HELOC, a 3/1 ARM, all the speculative frenzy was started and fueled by the intentions of the Realtors. Or, that's how I feel about it.

CA, realtors are only cogs.

There are incredibile -I would dare to say 'natural'- forces driving the expansion of credit into exponentially larger and unregulated realms. The realtors, mtg. brokers, the home buyers, and even the US government are just sucked into the updraft of this.

Thanks for the link HFWR; that was fun. I came up with Hedge Funds vs. Greenspan, with the winnah: Hedge Funds!

So... who did you have as the cause of this? Based off your earlier posts, I would have to guess you went with Bernanke or Greenspan?

I read the "Lifting the Veil" thread and asked a simple clarifying question. Did you miss it?
