One may be a big chicken and wish to do the job well, in as painless and certain a style as possible. Maybe one doesn't wish to leave a bigger mess than necessary. We had to deal with the aftermath of a tenant who chose the pistol method. Just leaving your corpse lying about is rather upsetting to the finder, no matter how tidy the death...
