Ads in Chromebook Browser

Lena mentioned that there are a lot of ads on my web page. I checked, and sure enough there were annoying animated ads everywhere, and they messed up my careful formatting. Like this:

Wordpress (platform for my site) says:
Our ads appear at the bottom of posts, in a sidebar, or as a banner on your site.

It is possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com.

These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.

I didn't see any extensions that would be responsible. Do you think it's malware?

I ran a Malwarebytes scan, and it didn't find anything. Hmm.

Al, I disabled my ad and tracker blocking software and am seeing numerous ads similar to the screen shot you posted.

I went to your website and found 4 ads (had to turn off my adblocker) one on the sidebar one in center and 2 at the bottom. The formatting seemed fine to me.

Don't WordPress hosted sites have ads? Not sure about that.
If there is adware driving these ads, then it would be in the remote directory. A security scan will pick it up.

Thanks for the info. I hate ads and didn't realize they were there. Hmm.

Free isn't free. But if you pay, the ads go away.
