- Came to the USA from England. Married > 30 years, 2 kids now left home.
BEng in EE, specializing in Radar Engineering. Bradford University, England, 1977
Have worked in the chemical industry since 1979 mostly doing process control, but have also spent a number of years in IT. With my job I have lived in various locations in England, Scotland, Texas and Louisiana, and have also traveled quite extensively with work.
Retirement
Plan on retiring as soon as I am eligible mid January 2010. Will have a non-COLA pension of ~$60K. Plan on drawing down investments to maintain a gross income of ~$90K.
Investments are simple, utilizing index or low cost funds from Fidelity and Vanguard. Currently have a 401k managed by Schwab which I'll roll into a Vanguard IRA.
