I was one of the first females hired in the early 60s and I had/have a steel backbone. Some managers hated me because I looked at the law and called fair or fowl as the law was written. I could also be big picture and look at the intent of legislation, not rigid.. which drove them crazy.

Today they are hiring file pushers, not strategic thinkers, IMHO.

Brat, I didn't work for DOL but suspect many in other agencies shared my experiences.
