Hello! I am WhoDaresWins and am interested in ridding myself of AP's(annuity pests) and "financial advisors". I have come to the conclusion, long proffered by my savvy ninety year old Aunt, that nobody has your best interests at heart more than you do. I plan to retire from my state job(which I love despite the insane bureaucracy) in four or five years. I am a 54 year old widow with a successful and entirely independent grown child(can you tell I'm proud?). I will get a moderate pension and have some IRA's, municipal bond funds, stock funds, a paid for house, and (groan,blush) two annuities sold to me by an AP. I won't go into the sordid details but please, if you ever lose a spouse, DO NOTHING for a year. Just sit tight and try to clear your head. Nothing wrong with a money market or checking account. I found your community by chance as I have Google alerts set to monitor some of my investments. Thanks for the opportunity to educate myself in your midst.
