That's the headline of our local newpaper's article.

It doesn't say whether the state is trying to rent the living accomodations to another renter. But JB, I think this is a sign that the Hawaii housing market has hit the top.
 
I saw that, made me laugh. I thought about some of the regular comments about $1M dog houses and cardboard box homes with 500k down in the SF Bay Area.

We live about 3 miles from a dormant volcano. Its almost 100% privately owned land around it. Considered to be highly valuable real estate. Probably one of the reasons why the soil around here is so good.

One HECK of a golf course running around the base of it.

No active lava tubes for anyone to move into though.
